A. US Route 19 near Hadley to Henry Road 7.2 miles Class Grad Size
(Area/Volume) Scene/Pol Level I 13/20 Tiny B/A Topographic Maps: Hadley,
Greenville East County Maps: Mercer Description: The US Route 19 Bridge is high and has guardrails. You will have to drop the canoes by the shoulder and then move the vehicles. At the water's edge after coming down a steep embankment, it seems like a remote place and the creek is like that to Hadley. You will encounter some civilization as you approach the various bridges, but it quickly returns to wilderness after each one. [Reported 2001] Difficulties: An occasional fallen tree, but the low gravel banks make the portage easy. Shuttle: The put-in is where the creek crosses US Route 19 about 2 miles south of Sheakleyville. To reach the take-out, continue south on US Route 19 to the first road. Turn right/west on State Route 358. Continue to Henry Road and turn right/north. The first bridge is the take-out. Gauge: None. Check the riffles at Hadley Bridge. This is the shallowest part. Normal Wet Period: No available statistics on seasons. Since this section is tiny, it should normally be runnable only after a heavy rain or during spring snowmelt. B. Henry Road to Osgood 8.6 miles Class Grad Size
